Senior Security Engineer (Incident Response, Remote)

Job summary

The role involves being an individual contributor on the Incident Response team, focusing on responding to security threats and incidents while leading investigations and security initiatives. The position requires effective communication of technical decisions and mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of experience in Incident Response OR Master's Degree with 4+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of Cloud Security Essentials in at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure, with working knowledge of GCP and Azure.
• Broad expertise in security topics and core Incident Response skills such as DFIR, Reverse Engineering, and Network Security.
• Experience with Enterprise Security and SaaS applications.
• Familiarity with SIEM and SOAR tools.
• Skills in building Incident Response tooling and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the triage and response to security events and alerts, correlating data from multiple sources.
• Communicate technical decisions through design documentation and tech talks.
• Mentor junior security responders through guidance and reviews.
• Build automation to enhance incident response and alert triage processes.
• Participate in a distributed 24x7 operations and on-call schedule.

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address ambiguous requirements.
• Effective communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for security processes.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.

Tools

• Experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms, as well as incident response tooling.
