Senior Backend Engineer (SaaS, Remote or Copenhagen)

Job summary

The role involves taking ownership of backend projects, addressing complex challenges, and ensuring successful implementation. The engineer will contribute to the backend architecture and mentor junior team members while collaborating with product teams to align backend solutions with product objectives.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience in software development with a strong background in delivering backend solutions.
• Proficient in Node.js, TypeScript, and relational databases, especially MySQL.
• Experience in building scalable and modular backend systems.
• Knowledge of modern backend engineering practices, including API design and performance optimization.
• Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Must be based in Copenhagen or elsewhere in the EU, with legal work authorization.

• Lead backend projects from conception to completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Shape and maintain scalable backend architecture and infrastructure.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers to enhance team capabilities.
• Collaborate with product teams and designers to develop backend features that meet user needs.

Skills

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases like ElasticSearch, Redis, or MongoDB is a plus.
• Knowledge of React Native is beneficial for mobile app development.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a nice-to-have.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
