Lead Software Engineer (SaaS, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The role involves driving the technical vision and architecture for software projects, taking ownership of complex problems, and delivering high-quality solutions. The Lead Software Engineer will mentor other engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and establish engineering standards and processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with a proven track record of delivering complex projects end-to-end.
• Demonstrated leadership or team management experience in a technical setting.
• Expertise in either Frontend (React, TypeScript, Next.js) or Backend (Node.js, TypeScript, RESTful APIs, MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch).
• Deep understanding of relational databases, particularly MySQL.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable, performant, and modular systems.
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices, including architecture design and performance optimization.
• Fluent communication in English with cross-functional teams.
• Based in/around Copenhagen with experience in remote teams.

Responsibilities

Skills

• Familiarity with NoSQL datastores such as ElasticSearch, Redis, and MongoDB is a plus.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows and code automation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, and code quality tooling.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not explicitly required.

Tools

• Proficiency in development tools such as Webpack, Vite, and ESLint for Frontend; Node.js and MySQL for Backend.
